Services — four elements

Four elements. One accountable team.

Most practices do not have an IT problem. They have a coordination problem. The software vendor supports the practice-management system. The ISP owns the circuit. The reseller sold the server. When something breaks on a Tuesday morning, the person who fixes it is whoever answers the phone.

The four elements of practice IT

Earth

Workstations, servers, network, imaging hardware

The practice-management server and its operating system, operatory and front-desk workstations, switches and firewalls, Wi-Fi coverage in treatment rooms, sensors, and CBCT and PACS workstations. Maintained with scheduled patching, device documentation, and a lifecycle plan.

Prevents a failing workstation becoming an emergency
Water

Backups that have been restored

Backups to a target outside the network that holds the server, a copy ransomware cannot reach with the same credentials, scheduled restore tests, and a written continuity plan: what comes back first, which workstation becomes the temporary front desk, and who calls which vendor.

Prevents the morning the server is gone with no plan
Air

Connectivity, Wi-Fi, phones, cloud

The firewall, switches, access points, phone system, cloud services, and remote support access on named accounts. We work with your ISP when the problem is on their side and tell you where the line is.

Prevents a front desk that cannot reach the schedule
Fire

Security and HIPAA-aligned safeguards

Identity controls and multi-factor authentication, endpoint protection, email filtering, network segmentation, patch discipline, and offsite backup. We sign Business Associate Agreements where required and support the Security Rule obligations that fall on your practice.

Prevents a bad day becoming a disclosure

We do not describe this as HIPAA certification. There is no such certification. We describe the safeguards, and we keep the evidence.

Plan

One plan, written down

Every engagement starts with an inventory of what you run and ends with a document that says what we maintain, what we do not, what we will do when something fails, and who answers.

Coverage windows and escalation paths are agreed in writing before onboarding, not discovered during the first outage. Reviews happen on a schedule so the plan stays true as the practice changes. The document is reviewed with you, not filed and forgotten.

When something breaks, you are not forwarded between a software vendor, an ISP, and a hardware reseller. One team owns the case until the chair is usable again.

Next step

An assessment tells you what you have before it tells you what to buy.

We look at the environment, report what we find, and quote from there. No obligation to continue.
